Persistence has paid for Birmingham City youngster Olly McCoy.
The 19-year-old grabbed his first goal as an official Blues player against Coventry City Under 23s on Monday – a strike that mirrored his approach to his football career.
The former FAB Academy winger had spurned a couple of presentable opportunities in the first half at the Alan Biggs Centre.
Undeterred he kept plugging away, continued to put himself in the right positions and four minutes into the second half he was on the spot to prod home George O’Neill’s cross.
If at first you don’t succeed…
The goal came a couple of months after he successfully completed a trial and earned himself a contract until June 2018.
